A Quiet Time For Mom

Hubby, Emily and Daniel have all signed up for AWANA. Hubby and Emily are leaders, Daniel is a "clubber." This means that every Sunday from 4:00 to 7:00, I will have the house to myself.

Now, this may seem horrible to you, but as a homeschooling mom, don't forget that my kids are generally with me 24/7, particularly since we moved to Qatar. It used to be in Miami I would have time out with friends and they would do sleepovers and play dates. We haven't gotten those new relationships established yet, so we are together all. the. time.

This week and next there isn't must opportunity for me to do anything outside of the house since nothing's open until 8 or so during Ramadan. But once October rolls around, I can go stroll the malls and explore. I can go to the club and relax in the sauna or schedule a massage or swim without people wanting me to dunk them or trying to dunk me.

Thank you, AWANA, thank you!

Lucky, lucky you!

I don't usually get any time alone. Cullen's with me 24/7, and once school lets out at 3:00, Christian is, too. Weekends they might be at the in-laws for a few hours, but that's it. Usually we're there, too.

Woo-hoo!!! I dream of having some hours to myself someday, too. My youngest daughter is in nursery school this year, but only one morning a week ~ and the town is far enough away that I don't really want to drive home again just to be home for 2-1/2 hours before having to leave to pick her up again. But next year she'll be in kindergarten all day every other day, so I'm counting down the months!!

Doesn't that sound horrible?! I'm not wanting her to grow up, necessarily, but with hubby being a trucker, I'm virtually a single parent much of the time and both sets of grandparents live six hours away (whine, whine whine ~ yes, I'd like some cheese with that!!), so PURE, UNADULTERATED MOMMY TIME is RARE!!

I totally understand! I am with my kids 24/7. Just an hour or two alone is wonderful. It refreshes you, so you can be a better mommy!
