Thankful Thursday

*** This week's Creative Counterpart post is below. Thanks for your patience!***

Well, to be honest, the last couple of days haven't been the greatest. I have been smacked in the face with the feeling that I'm so far from where I want to be. I'm not the wife and mother that I desire to be. I have a long way to go apparently.

Feelings of failure swirl around me as I try to figure out where I'm going wrong. Like everything else in my life, I've got all the head knowledge, it's just the application part that trips me up. As much as I try, I realize that I am not who I want to be.

And yet...there is Christ. He is my hope and my shield. For that I am so thankful. Even though I fail repeatedly, He never turns away from me. He always picks me up, dusts me off and sets me off again, much like a parent with a toddler learning to walk.

When I want to cry and curl up in my bed, He tells me to get up and try again. When I want to give up, He reminds me that it is never hopeless. In Him, there is the hope of finally getting it right. In Him, there is forgiveness. In Him, there is redemption.

And, just for today, that's enough for me to be thankful for.

(Thanks, as always, to Iris for hosting Thankful Thursday.)

I go through that too from time to time. But I'm so thankful for God's love. Remain blessed.

Must be something in the air. I'm kind of in that place right now too. (and not enjoying it at all!)

I'm praying for you today.

I understand because I also get frustrated with myself. But then I remember God's grace and love and how truly blessed we are as daughters of the true King. He covers us with His love and grace and empowers us to live this life.

You are in the palm of His hands now - He needs us to get to this place of humility so the real work He wants to begin can happen. This is where the pain of the refinement gets matched with the power of us His love for us.

I know this from experience over and over again the last three years. Laying it all down with you!

We are not made perfect until the day we are glorified. Thanking God He is NOT done with us yet!

In His amazing grace,
Jill

Boy, the Devil just loves to make us feel inadequate and as women and moms, we seem to be so susceptible to it. I am praying for you that you are able to hold onto the joy of the Lord and let it be your strength- don't let that nasty enemy get you down!

What joy it is to know that He loves us even when we fail and that He encourages us to get up and try again. Blessings to you!

The God of the mountain... is still God of the valley.

Be encouraged, Friend!

Thank you for sharing honestly.

Happy Thankful Thursday!

Yes, I've often felt the same way! I truly want to be the best wife, mom, and woman that I can be, but I fall so short. Thank the Lord He does pick us up and start us over, just like the toddler learning to walk that you mentioned.

I can also relate to what you've said. I posted recently on one of my Friday Favorites about the song "Voice of Truth." Your post made me think of this, it was on Oct. 3 if you'd like to read.

You are so right, sometimes that is not only enough, sometimes it is all we have.

I can relate to your week and if you read my Tuesday post you would hear it.

I'm better today and thankful to be alive.

Thank you for this encouragement. I've had a rough week. This was the reminder that I needed. Thank you!

That is the most important thing to be thankful for! Everything will work out in His time.

Don't we serve an awesome God?!! I just don't know how people can survive without Him in their lives.

Thank you for sharing.
