WFMW - Sure Fire Cure for Hiccups!
Have you ever hiccupped and hiccupped so much that it hurt? Sometimes it just won't stop, right?
We've all heard the tips of having someone scare you, holding your breath, drinking a glass of water from the opposite side (how on earth do you do that anyways?!?!). I've tried them and they don't work.
But I have a tip that actually DOES work.
The next time you, or your little ones, have the hiccups just pull out your sugar bowl. Take a spoonful of sugar and, 9 times out of 10, the hiccups will vanish. It's just that simple!
It seems as though the grains of sugar somehow modifies the nervous impulses that tell the diaphragm to spasm. Doctors aren't really sure WHY it works, but it does.
It's a sweet solution to an annoying problem. Just don't forget to brush your teeth afterwards!! LOL!!
For more great ideas, head on over to Rocks in My Dryer!

I have heard that before, but never tried it. I'll have to try it sometime!
Thank you for the tip. I hope I'll remember when the time comes. Hiccups are SO annoying!
oh, my kids would NEVER go for that! ;)
Yes! I have done this many times and it does work! I think it only didn't work once.
I don't think I ever tried that one, but it is a worth a shot. I don't get the hiccups often, but when I do, they seem to stay around for the better part of the day.
never heard this one - thanks! we'll definitly try it - my 6 year old gets hiccups and they really bother her - thanks so much for the tip :-)
This works EVERY time! The only trick is that you have to eat the sugar as quickly as you can.
I don't know HOW, but this actually worked!!! Yippee!!! Love you too and thanks!!! :)
