And so it begins...

It looks like we have our first real contender of the 2007 Atlantic Hurricane Season. Tropical Depression #4 has formed out in the Atlantic and looks like it's headed straight for us. Predictions are that it will be near Puerto Rico and be a Category 2 storm by Saturday.

Hmm. My mom is supposed to fly into town on Tuesday. Of course, these two events would have to coincide. "Welcome to Miami, Mom! Here's a hurricane panel - now get to work! Oh, and by the way, is electricity important to you while you are here?"

Ah, the joys of living in a hurricane hotspot!

Oh, I'll be praying for your safety. Storms are awesome and I have a special thing for hurricanes (did a MAJOR research project on the subject just this winter), but I'm very happy to not experience them in person!! Hope all goes well.
